Masking Class

A couple of weeks ago I held a masking class. All three cards featured some sort of masking technique. I love masking, it gives you so many more options with the stamps. The first card we did was a simple masking technique using a circle punch and a sponge to create the masked circle. This was such a simple card, but I love the look of it. I got the idea for this card from Dawn Griffith.
Supplies Used:
(All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss
Cardstock: Whisper White
Accessories: 1 3/4 Circle Punch, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Sponge

The second card we did was learning how to mask using stamp sets so that they look like they are overlapped or behind each other. Of course I had to use the little birdie stamp set (currently in a tie for my favourite stamp set.) This card was inspired by Jamie Sears, you can see her card here.
Supplies Used:
(All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: A Little Birdie Told Me
Ink: Black StazOn, Bashful Blue Marker, So Saffron Marker, Summer Sun Marker
Cardstock: So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Washington Apple DS
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, White Gel Pen, Bashful Blue Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon, So Saffron Button, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

This last card is my favourite. This masking technique is great for the set Fifth Avenue Floral. It should be no surprise that I used this set. I am sure you can guess that this set is the set that is in a tie with A Little Birdie for my favourite stamp set. What is there not to love about this card. It uses Fifith Avenue Floral, the Scallop Edge Punch, Chocolate Chip Ribbon and Dazzling Diamonds. Four great products.
