Treats for Nephews

I wasn't too sure about the sweet treat cups when they first showed up in the Holiday Mini catalogue. I just couldn't handle the thought of someone having to take the card apart to get to the candy, but as I saw more and more people make these cards, I noticed that alot were making them with some sort of trap door in the back so you could get the candy out and still keep the card together. So I decided I would try some with this technique. I made these cards for my nephews at Christmas time. They boys loved them, and I didn't have to watch someone tear the card apart to get to the candy.

Supplies Used:
(All Stampin' Up!)
Stamp Sets: Beary Best Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Black Staz On, Assorted Markers
Cardstock: Garden Green, Real Red, Kraft, Whisper White

Christmas Catch-Up

As I was going through my files on my computer I noticed that I haven't shared all my Christmas projects with you, so I thought over the next few days I will work on sharing these projects with you. This is a gift card holder done for my gift card holder class I did before Christmas. I got the template for this holder from Holly Krautkremer. You just attach the gift card with glue dots to the bottom section of the Whisper White piece and write your note on the top section.

Frosty is back!

It is snowing here so I decided it was the perfect time to bring Frosty back. This was one of the Christmas cards I made this year. This card was cased from Sparklegirl on SCS. This stamp set has to be one of my favorites. There is just something about snowmen that I love, not sure why because I am not a fan of snow at all. Sometimes things are just funny like that.

Ink: Black StazOn, Real Red Marker, Night of Navy Marker, Only Orange Marker, Old Olive Marker

Fish Note

One of the favourite techniques is to create a masked off area for an image. I don't know if there is a actual name for this technique. I absolutely love this look but don't use it enough. The hardest part of this card was the create the mask for the stamped area, but once that was done I can keep it with the stamp set and have it readily available next time I want to use it.

Supplies Used:
(All Stampin' Up!)
Stamp Sets: Ocean Commotion
Ink: Pacific Point, Bashful Blue
Cardstock: Whisper White
Accessories: Bashful Blue Double Stitched Ribbon

Saffron Flower

Can you tell I am in a flower mood recently? It might be hard to believe but when I first started cardmaking, flower images were the last thing I would go for. I was not a fan of anything flowery. I still have my limits but I do like simple flower images. These fresh note cards make it so easy to complete a card. All I did was stamp cut out a small Mellow Moss flower, attach it to the card with a So Saffron Brad, then attached a piece of So Saffron cardstock behind the cut out image. Stamped a sentiment on the front of the card. I paper pierced the edges and then attached the Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon. Simple, but a stunning look.
Supplies Used:
(All Stampin' Up!)
Stamp Sets: Fresh Cuts
Ink: So Saffron, Mellow Moss
Cardstock: So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Fresh Cut Notes, So Saffron Brad, Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon

SU Haul - New Products

I am so excited to share with you my first video! I hope to try to do some more videos in the future of actually making cards for now I decided to start with showing you my first order from the new Occassions Mini and Sale-A-Bration. Hope you enjoy.

Colour Blocked Flowers

For some reason I love to do black card bases for cards. When you add colour to the card the black really makes it stand out. This card was actually very simple to make. All I did was take a piece of White cardstock and attach the strips of coloured cardstock to it and then stamp the flower image with White craft on them. I just love the look of this card. I was just thinking maybe I will do a class using this card and colour blocking. Hmm....

Supplies Used:
(All Stampin' Up!)
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: White Craft, Black StazOn
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo

Faux Linen

It took me a while to get the stamp set Freinds 24-7 because it wasn't one that really caught my eye at first, but after seeing a ton of great cards made with this set, I decided to get it. Now it is one of the sets I tend to reach for first when I am stamping. Funny how that works sometimes. This card was cased from Dawn Griffith, I just changed up the colours. The background with the flowers uses the faux Linen technique, it is hard to see it in the picture, but in real life it gives the background a really soft look.

Supplies Used:
(All Stampin Up!)
Stamp Sets: Friends 24-7, Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Ruby Red, Old Olive Marker, Ruby Red Marker
Cardstock: Ruby Red, Basic Black, Whisper White

Big on Christmas

This is the fourth card we made at my Christmas card Stamp-a-Stack. I love this card. Each person could choose which card they wanted to make and if they wanted to make one of each they could. If they wanted to make two of one design and one of the other designs, they could. This was one of my favourite cards that I used it for a lot of my own Christmas cards. These cards were cased from Renaelindzey at SCS.

Happy Birthday Sue

Today I would like to say happy birthday to Sue and I am going to share the card I made for her. We both got a Big Shot for Christmas, so I knew I wanted to do something with it. I also got the Curly Label Movers & Shapers Die so that's where I started with this card. I hand cut the little flowers out, this was alot harder than I thought I would be but I love the way it turned out. The first picture is a view of the card with it closed so you can see the inside and the second picture is of just the front so that you can see the window.
