October Stamp Club

Today was the last meeting for the year of my stamp club. I am sad that it is over for the year, but am looking forward to starting another club up in the new year. I made a special little gift for each member as a thank you for spending the year with me. As I write this though I realize that I haven't taken a picture of it yet. I will make myself a note to do this and hopefully get it posted tomorrow. On to the projects we created today. The first project is a gift card holder. I got the template for this project from Linda Heller at stampingschool.com.

Nephew's Birthday

In July our family always has one big birthday party for our four nephew's. There are a few reasons for this. The biggest one is that three of the four nephew's all live out of town and we don't see them a lot expect for holidays and summertime. And it just really makes alot of sense to have the party in July because the birthday's are so close together. One is the end of May, two are the same day in June and the fourth is the very beginning of July. These are the cards that I made for the nephew's, for some reason when I did these cards I was really into putting their ages on the cards. I never noticed this until I was writing in them, but I put the ages on three of the four cards. The one without the number was for our 9 year old nephew.

Anniversary

Watercoloring has become one of my favourite ways to color stamped images. There was a time when I avoided using outline images because I hated having to color them in. However ever since I have learned how to use the blender pens to watercolor with both the watercolor crayons and the ink pads, I have started using my outline image stamps so much more. I am still working on mastering watercoloring with the Aqua Painter but I will keep working on it. Here is a card I made for a bunch of anniversary's our family celebrated this summer. I love this couple from Summer by the Sea. I tend to always use it for anniversary cards. I will be very sad when this stamp set retires. Let's hope that it doesn't happen for a long time.

World Card Making Day

To celebrate World Card Making Day on Saturday I held an open house. Everyone was invited to come and stamp with me, they could bring their own projects to work on, or for a small fee they could use any of my stamp sets and inks. I also had a couple make and takes ready. Even though I only had one person come it was so worth it. We had a great time making cards together and just chatting. Thanks Renee for coming. I enjoyed spending some one-on-one time with you.
