Loonies for Littles

Be a part of DSA's Loonies for Little Campaign benefiting the "Littles" (kids) and "Bigs" (adult volunteers) of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. From April 15 to may 31st, Stampin' U! will donate $2 to Big Brother's Big Sisters' In-School Mentoring program when you purchase the Loonies for Little Stampin' Kit.

March Club Cards

This past Saturday was my monthly card club meeting. We made one card using the chalkboard technique and the other one featured one of the Sale-A-Bration sets. I only just learned of the chalkboard the week before and I just loved the look of it. I knew right away that I wanted to use this technique at the club meeting. But I was having problems trying to incorporate it into a card for the club meeting. I asked my BFF Christine for help and she came up with a card I just loved. Our current favourite set is Priceless and one of our all time favs is Wonderful Words. So of course I used the card she designed. Here is it:

The second card we did featured the set Sale-A-Bration set Friendship Blooms and the Rhinestone Brads. This was the first time I used these brads, I have always been a fan of brads. I love that they are so easy to set and they just look great on almost any project. I don't know why I have never tried the Rhinestone brads before, they just add a little more sparkle to the card than a regular brad would. I gotta get me some more of these. Don`t be surprised if you start to see Rhinestone brads on majority of the cards I do from now on. This card was cased from mndnco at splitcoaststampers.com

February's Projects

This past Saturday was our monthly Stamp Addicts Club meeting. Only a couple members were able to attend this month's meeting but we had tons of fun together. As it is Sale-A-Bration this month I just had to use one of the SAB sets you can earn. This is the card we made using Birthday Whimsy.

I am trying to introduce something new at each meeting. This month it was watercoloring. I found this card on splitcoaststampers by alimarbles that used a white paper bag for the card and she had put a package of soup inside. Click here to see her card. I loved this idea so I cased it. I had a hard time trying to find some white paper bags, I thought you would be able to get them anywhere you could get lunch bags, but no such luck. Finally I found some at Michaels. I love the way this card turned out.

Father-in-Law Birthday

Yesterday was my father-in-law's birthday and I needed to make him a card. I always have trouble making masculine cards. I had to pick colors that were more manly than the typical soft girly colors I tend to use. My husband says that he really likes the card I made, but I am not too sure about it. I think part of my problem is that it is not really my colors, if I had done it in different colors I might like it more, but then it probably would not be a good card for a man. Anyways, here is the card:

As I was checking out some other stampers blogs I was inspired to use one of my new sets, the hostess set Time Well Spent. I saw a card on Teresa Payne-Neal's blog that used the really big flower from this set that I really liked. I had not used this flower yet so I thought it was about time to ink it up. Happy Birthday Christine!

Today is my best friend's birthday and I want to send best wishes to her.

I made one card for her birthday that I really liked and then I mistakingly showed it to her. So I thought I better make a different one for her. But she told me that she really loved the card so then I thought I should change it up a little so that she doesn't get the exact one that I showed her.

To change it I decided I would change the colors and use one of the colors that she always bugs me about never using - Taken With Teal. The rest of the color combo just built from there.
