Faux Grid Class Part 3

Sorry it took so long to post the third card of the Faux Grid class. This past weekend was spend doing fun things out of the house, so I did not get much done around the house and that included making any cards or updating my blog. It was a nice fun weekend, we spent Saturday getting some much needed shopping done. Priority items was to find new running/walking shoes for both Andrew and I for our upcoming trip. I love wearing heals and always feel funny anytime I wear any type of flats, so needless to say my only shoes that could be considered flats are flip-flops and these will not work for the walking we plan on doing. And Andrew was in desperate need of new shoes, his runners we starting to look pretty bad. We did have a productive day and both found shoes that should work good and keep our feet comfortable. I guess we will find out. We then ended the weekend by spending the day with friends and checking out fish stores. For those of you who know my husband, before you ask, yes he did buy a new fish. No shocker there eh? Today was back to work and trying lots done. Now that you know all about my weekend I will show you a card since that is really why you came to my blog in the first place, right? This card was the third card we made at the Faux Grid class I was telling you about last week.

Faux Grid Class Part 2

These is another one of the cards we made at the faux grid class. This is my favourite card from the class. I love these flowers from the Fifth Avenue Floral set. This card is just so bright and cheery even with the Black base. Each square is 1", instead of adding the dots on the lines to make it look like a stitched quilt I coloured in some of the squares. I think the colouring of the squares really makes the flowers pop off the page even more. I have a few extra of these cards left, I think I will dig some out of my stash and mail them out to some friends to remind them spring it just around the corner.

Faux Grid Class

I just realized I never shared the cards we made at my Faux Grid class that I had before Christmas. I can't believe I never shared these cards. I really like this technique and love how the cards turned out. At the class we made three cards using the technique two different ways. Each square is 1". This is one of the cards we made I will share the other two over the weekend.

Happy Together Class Part 2

These are the last two cards we made at the Happy Together Class this past weekend. Lately I have been really white base cards. This card was inspired from Putri at SCS I changed up the colours and layout a little bit. I rarely use the colour Tempting Turquoise because it is such a bright colour but on this card I just love it. It really make the main image stand out. The second card was inspired from Soshiro at SCS. I love how this card turned out, I tried so many different embellishments for the middle band of the card, but had to come back to the Chocolate Chip ribbon, it just seemed to fit the card the best.

Happy Together Class Part 1

This past weekend I held a class featuring the Happy Together Stamp set. This is such a cute stamp set and I was so excited when I found out it was one of the sets you could choose for free during Sale-A-Bration. I had been eying this set since it came out in the catalogue but never could convince myself to buy it, but because I waited I ended up getting it for free! Free is always good. Lots of Hearts

This is the last card we made at my Valentine's Day class last week. I cased this card from January's Stampin' Success (this is a magazine for SU demos). I really like the layout of this card. Each heart is cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Valentine's Treat Box

This is another one of the projects we did at my Valentine's Class earlier this week. This is a little treat box that would be great to put some candies in and give to someone. I am thinking I might fill this box with some little treats and put in my husband's lunch bag for work. This box was very simple to make. The cardstock was 6 1/2 x 8 3/8 and then I scored 2" for the bottom and at 2", 4", 6", 8" for the sides of the box. Then just cut some slits in the bottom to create the flaps and folded the box together. To close the top of the box I just pinched in the side and placed a clip on the top to hold it closed. I tied some ribbon onto the clip, just to add a little extra. I am really happy with the way it turned out.

Christmas Catch-Up

As I was going through my files on my computer I noticed that I haven't shared all my Christmas projects with you, so I thought over the next few days I will work on sharing these projects with you. This is a gift card holder done for my gift card holder class I did before Christmas. I got the template for this holder from Holly Krautkremer. You just attach the gift card with glue dots to the bottom section of the Whisper White piece and write your note on the top section.

This is the fourth card we made at my Christmas card Stamp-a-Stack. I love this card. Each person could choose which card they wanted to make and if they wanted to make one of each they could. If they wanted to make two of one design and one of the other designs, they could. This was one of my favourite cards that I used it for a lot of my own Christmas cards. Crazy for Cupcakes Class

Recently I did a class with the stamp set Crazy for Cupcakes. When this set first came out, I didn't really think much of it. I thought, how much can you really do with a couple cupcake images and a balloon. But after seeing so many great samples with it, I finally broke down and bought it, used it a bunch, fell in love with it and decided I just had to do a class with the set. It really is so versitile. This is one of the cards that we made at the class. I cased this idea from Tessa at splitcoaststampers.com. You can't tell in the picture, but I added Crystal Effects to the cherries. I just love this stuff, it really adds to a card. I love this colour combination. I tend to use Old Olive and So Saffron quite a bit and now Basic Gray has been added to my go to colors.

This is the third card we made at the spotlighting class. I love this card. I think I might use it for one of my Christmas cards this year. I cased this card from Maggie's Mommy at splitcoaststampers.com. It is hard to tell in the picture but I put dazzling diamonds on the popped up tree. This just adds so much to the card.

Spotlighting Class

I have really been slacking on keeping this blog updated lately. The past few weeks have been very busy and stressful and when I get home at I night I am just wiped out. Last weekend I started my monthly classes up again. It was so good to get together and stamp with others again. I have missed the classes. The technique for this class was spotlighting. New Catty Open House

Last night I held a new catty open house in celebration of the new SU catalogue. It was so much fun. Along with showing off the new in-colors I also had some of my retired sets for sale. Below is the card we did for the make and take. I wanted a card that used the new in-colors and ribbon. As this is the only in color ribbon I currently had it was the starting point for choosing the colours of this card. I love how the new in-colors work so well together.
